You receive an e-mail message.
The message is from someone
who claims to have a large sum of money that they need to transfer out of the country.
While this scam originated in Nigeria and the original 419 Scams claim to need to get money out of Nigeria, it is now common for 419 scams to claim to be in many different countries.
419 scams will give some reason why they cannot transfer the money out of the country.
419 scams then ask you to help transfer this money out of his country and, if you help, you will receive a percentage of the money as a fee for your assistance.
